Today’s itinerary is packed with adventure and exploration. The must-visit attractions include: Ganesh Tok Perched atop a steep hill, this small yet charming Hindu temple also features a café offering light snacks and refreshing beverages. As the highest point in Gangtok (around 6,500 ft), it provides a breathtaking panoramic view of the city and its surrounding landscapes. Tashi View Point From this viewpoint, marvel at the snow-clad peaks of Mt. Kanchenjunga and the stunning valleys nearby. Located away from the city’s hustle, it is a perfect retreat for those seeking peace and serenity. It is also known for its mesmerizing sunrise views. Ropeway & Banjhakri Falls A must-visit attraction, Banjhakri Falls is a favorite among tourists. The scenic waterfall, combined with adventure activities such as ropeway rides and boating, makes for an exciting experience amid nature’s splendor. Directorate of Handicraft and Handloom Established in 1957, this institute is dedicated to preserving Gangtok’s rich artistic heritage. Enchey Monastery Dating back over 200 years, Enchey Monastery is one of Sikkim’s most revered religious sites.     Start your day with a light breakfast, ensuring you feel satisfied but not overly full. Today’s adventure takes you to the stunning Tsomgo Lake and the revered Baba Mandir, so keep your energy up without overeating. Tsomgo Lake Located approximately 40 km from the city center, reaching Tsomgo Lake involves a scenic two-hour drive through the Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary, home to the rare red panda and the blood pheasant. This mesmerizing lake sits at an altitude of 12,310 feet and has an oval shape with a depth of 50 feet. For a significant part of the year, a thick blanket of snow covers the lake, making it a breathtaking sight. It also serves as a habitat for migratory birds, including the beautiful Brahmini ducks. Baba Mandir A short distance from Tsomgo Lake stands the Baba Mandir, a significant spiritual site for both locals and tourists. Also referred to as the Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple, it lies between the Nathu La and Jelepla passes. The temple honors Baba Harbhajan Singh, a 22-year-old soldier known as the “Hero of Nathula.” According to legend, his spirit continues to safeguard soldiers stationed in the challenging Himalayan terrain after he tragically perished while guiding mules carrying essential supplies. Optional Tour – Nathu La Pass For an additional fee, you can extend your trip to the Nathu La Pass, a historic route linking Sikkim with China’s autonomous region. Reaching the top requires climbing a few steps, but the experience is worth it. Historically, this pass was a part of the renowned Silk Route. Entry to this area necessitates a special permit, so plan accordingly. Your first stop is Chungthang, located 96 km from Gangtok. Take a break here and enjoy a delicious lunch before continuing your journey. From Chungthang, Lachen is just 35 km away. Lachen is a mesmerizing destination that captivates visitors instantly. Nestled amidst rugged terrain and towering peaks, this secluded town is a true hidden gem. The breathtaking snow-covered mountains lead to stunning attractions like Gurudongmar Lake, Thangu, and Chopta Valley—each worth exploring. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy some refreshing evening tea. Take a leisurely walk through the quaint village, soaking in its untouched charm.     Gurudongmar Lake Excursion Start your day with breakfast before embarking on a journey to Gurudongmar Lake, located about 55 km from Lachen. The drive will take approximately 2.5 to 3.5 hours, but the breathtaking scenery along the way makes every moment worthwhile. Gurudongmar Lake Sikkim takes pride in being home to one of the world’s highest lakes—Gurudongmar Lake—nestled at an altitude of 17,800 feet. The lake is named after Guru Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, the revered figure in Tibetan Buddhism. It is also believed that Guru Nanak Dev Ji blessed the lake during his visit in the 15th century. Holding immense spiritual significance for Hindus, Buddhists, and Sikhs alike, this pristine water body is a sight to behold. After soaking in the serene beauty of the lake, return to the resort for lunch before heading to your next stops—Thangu and Chopta Valley. The return journey to your hotel will take around two hours. Thangu Valley Situated a two-hour drive from Lachen, Thangu is a picturesque village known for its seasonal beauty. During May and June, the landscape bursts into vibrant floral blooms, while from October to March, it is blanketed in thick snow. This serene village is a paradise for nature enthusiasts seeking tranquility. Chopta Valley Chopta Valley is one of Sikkim’s most sought-after tourist destinations, famed for its captivating floral landscapes.     Info   Lachung – Yumthang Excursion – Gangtok

    After enjoying your breakfast, drive towards Yumthang, situated at an altitude of 11,800 feet. This breathtaking valley, nestled beside the Lachung Chu River, is encircled by towering mountains. In spring, the valley bursts into color with blooming Rhododendrons, alpine flowers, and Primulae, transforming it into a paradise. On other days, except autumn, the valley is blanketed in snow. On the way, you’ll also pass by a renowned hot spring, known for its medicinal properties. Take your time soaking in the mesmerizing views, then head back to your hotel for lunch. Afterward, embark on a 4-5 hour drive to Gangtok. En route, stop at Singhik and Mangan. If the weather is clear, take in the stunning vistas of Mount Kanchenjunga, Mount Jopuno, Mount Kabru, Mount Pandim, Mount Simvo, Mount Siniolchu, and Mount Khanchendzonga. This scenic drive will provide ample opportunities for fantastic photography. Upon reaching Gangtok, if time permits, you can visit a shopping center or Mall Road, then relax with a peaceful night’s sleep. This day also offers an optional tour to Zero Point.
