    Your first stop will be at Shalimar Bagh. This is a Mughal garden, built-in 1619. It was built by emperor Jahangir for his wife Noor Jahan. The garden overlooks the twinkling waters of Dal Lake. Now, it is a public garden and is said to be the “crown of Srinagar”. The next destination for the day will be Chashme Shahi. This is also a very renowned garden built by the Mughals. Visit it for its terrace garden that consists of walkways, colourful plants and pools of water. You will also visit Hazratbal Shrine. It is considered to be the holiest Muslim shrine in Kashmir. The shrine houses a relic known as Moi-e-Muqqadas. It is believed to be the sacred hair of Prophet Muhammad’s beard. Post this tiring day, head back to your hotel or houseboat for dinner and a night stay.

    Activity   Srinagarto sonmarg sightseeing

    After breakfast, a scenic trip from Srinagar to Sonmarg is a wonderful way to experience the natural beauty of Kashmir.  1. Departure from Srinagar: Start early to maximize your sightseeing time. Enjoy the views along the drive, which typically takes about 2-3 hours, depending on traffic. 2. On the Way to Sonmarg: Drive through the Sindh Valley: You will be driving along the Sindh River, which is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and lush meadows. Views of the Mountains: On the way, you’ll pass through beautiful villages, including Gagangir, which offer stunning views of the Thajiwas Glacier and surrounding mountains. 3. Arriving at Sonmarg: Sonmarg (Meadow of Gold): Upon reaching Sonmarg, you’ll be greeted by a stunning alpine valley. Sonmarg is known for its golden meadows and glaciers, surrounded by towering snow-covered peaks. Activities: You can take a stroll through the meadows, enjoy the river views, or go for a short trek toward the Thajiwas Glacier, which is about 3-4 km from Sonmarg.     The next activity on your tour itinerary for will be a Gondola ride or pony ride to Khillanmarg. The ride is the second-highest cable ride in the world and tourists from around the globe come to experience the ride. It offers a magnificent view of the Himalayan Mountain Ranges. You can also take a short 3 to 4 hours trek up to Khilanmarg. Chair lifts for mountain rides are also available.

    Info   Gulmarg to Doodhpatri and return to Srinagar

    1. Start from Gulmarg (8:00 AM) Enjoy a hearty breakfast in Gulmarg. You can try Kahwa, Sheermal, or a traditional Kashmiri breakfast at your hotel or a local café. After breakfast, prepare for your drive to Doodhpathri. The journey is scenic and will take around 2 to 2.5 hours. 2. Drive from Gulmarg to Doodhpathri (8:30 AM - 10:30 AM) Depart from Gulmarg and head toward Doodhpathri. The route will take you through Khansahib and Chadoora, offering beautiful views of the Pir Panjal mountain range, lush green fields, and charming villages. Take short stops along the way to capture the views or stretch your legs. 3. Arrive in Doodhpathri (10:30 AM) You will reach Doodhpathri by late morning. Doodhpathri, often referred to as the “Valley of Milk,” is famous for its milky white stream and lush meadows surrounded by towering pine trees. Spend some time enjoying the serene atmosphere. Take a peaceful walk through the meadows, explore the river, and appreciate the natural beauty of this lesser-known gem. 4. Explore Doodhpathri (10:30 AM - 12:30 PM) You can enjoy some leisure time by the stream, which is perfect for a relaxing picnic. If you’re feeling adventurous, consider a pony ride or hike to a nearby viewpoint for panoramic views of the valley and surrounding mountains. The area is a photographer's paradise, so be sure to take some time to capture the stunning landscape. 5. Lunch in Doodhpathri (12:30 PM - 1:30 PM) Enjoy a packed lunch or visit one of the small local eateries for a simple and fresh meal. Traditional Kashmiri dishes like Rajma, Pulao, or Rogan Josh may be available in local spots. You can also relax by the river, enjoying the fresh air and calm environment while having lunch. 6. Drive Back to Srinagar (2:00 PM - 4:00 PM) After lunch and some final exploration, begin your drive back to Srinagar. The drive will take around 2 hours. You may want to stop briefly at a scenic point or Dal Lake (if time allows) to enjoy the views as you approach the city. 7. Arrive in Srinagar (4:00 PM - 5:00 PM) Once you arrive in Srinagar, you can relax and enjoy the evening. You can take a Shikara ride on Dal Lake or visit Nigeen Lake for a serene experience. Alternatively, you can explore Mughal Gardens (such as Nishat Bagh or Shalimar Bagh) if you’re in the mood for a bit of sightseeing in the evening. 8. Evening in Srinagar (5:30 PM onwards) You can unwind at your hotel, enjoy some Kahwa or Wazwan dinner, or simply stroll through the local markets in Srinagar, like Lal Chowk, to buy souvenirs.

    Once you reach Doodhpathri, take a stroll around the lush green meadows and enjoy the scenic beauty of the place. The name Doodhpathri means "Valley of Milk" and it is known for its rolling hills, meadows, and gushing streams. You can also go for a horse ride or a trek to explore the nearby areas. The trek to the highest point of Doodhpathri, known as Tatta Kutti, is a must-do activity for adventure enthusiasts. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the beautiful surroundings of Doodhpathri. You can carry your own food or buy some local snacks from the vendors. After lunch, visit the Doodhpathri Shrine, which is a popular pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Muslims. The shrine is dedicated to Sheikh Noor-ud-Din, who is also known as Nund Rishi. In the evening, head back to Srinagar and enjoy a delicious dinner at hotel.
