Religious History of Kedarnath: Kedarnath is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, holding immense significance in Hinduism. According to legend, the temple was built by the Pandavas during the Mahabharata era. It's believed to be the spot where Lord Shiva, disguised as a Nandi bull, disappeared into the ground and reappeared as a hump in Kedarnath. The temple is crafted from natural elements like air, water, and earth, adding to its spiritual and religious significance.
Religious History of Badrinath: Badrinath is the abode of Lord Vishnu, renowned for its divine energy. The temple's history dates back to Adi Shankaracharya, who recovered the idol of Badrinath Ji from the Narad Kund and reinstated it as a Hindu temple. This act revived the temple's religious importance, making it a significant pilgrimage site.
Religious History of Joshimath: An establishment of Adi Shankaracharya, Joshimath is considered the administrative center of the Atharvaveda. Shankaracharya installed an idol of Narsimha (an incarnation of Lord Vishnu) in the Narsimha temple as the supreme deity. Another legend tells of King Vasudev's encounter with God Narsingh in disguise, leading to a divine curse and the migration of his dynasty to Baijnath.
