Located at about 6 km from Mahabaleshwar, it is one of the important pilgrimage sites for the Hindus. The temple is divided into two sections- the Sanctum Sanctorum and the Central Hall. Mahalingam or Swayambhu, the self-originated lingam in the shape of Rudraksha, is enshrined in the sanctum sanctorum. It is considered to be superior to the twelve Jyotir Lingams. Belongings of Lord Shiva, like his Trishul, damru, bed, etc., believed to be around 300 years old are kept inside this temple. It is advised to dress modestly while visiting the temple.

Location 1: Pratapgarh Fort Located at a distance of 24 km from Mahabaleshwar, the Pratapgad Fort was built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1656. It consists of two forts - an upper fort built on the top of the hill and a lower fort resting towards the south. Shivaji defeated Afzal Khan, General of Bijapur in this very place. To mark this historic event, a statue of an equestrian Shivaji was built at the top of the fort in the year 1959. Afzal Khan's Tomb and Bhavani Temple are other attractions situated near the fort. It is believed that Shivaji was blessed with a shining sword at this temple. The fort also boasts of a beautiful view of the Konkan Coast Location 2: Arthurs Seat A popular tourist point in Mahabaleshwar, the Arthur's Seat is located about 13 kilometers from the main city of Mahabaleshwar. Also known as the ‘Queen of all points' it is known for its unique phenomenon of floating of light objects. If a light object is thrown into the valley, it floats in the air due to the pressure of air around the area. Many tourists visit Arthur's Seat to witness this peculiar highlight of the place. The point offers scenic vistas of Konkan on one side and Deccan on the other. It also offers a beautiful view of the Brahma-Aryana valleys and the sparkling Savitiri River below
