And Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love) built by Jahangir for his wife Empress Noor Jehan. Chashma Shahi (Mughal Spring) all the gardens are situated on the bank of Dal Lake with the Zabarwan Mountains in the background. The distance from Srinagar to the said gardens is about 12 and 15 kms respectively. SRINAGAR-GULMARG-SRINAGAR After breakfast, we will begin our countryside day trip towards Gulmarg. Gulmarg (2730 Meters above Sea level).The distance of 60 kms will be covered in about 2 hrs. It is one of the most beautiful hill stations and also called “Meadows of Flower ''. The drive past colorful villages and rice fields, gives you an insight of the rich cultural past of Kashmir. We arrive at a small picturesque market town of Tangmarg and drive ahead on a scenic drive of 14 kilometers to Gulmarg. One can also have the view of Nanga Parbhat if weather permits. The view enroute from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating. Gulmarg has one of the best ski slopes in the world and the highest golf course with 18 holes. On arrival one can have the pleasure of seeing the soothing beauty around the meadows. Once in Gulmarg board the Gondola cable car (at your own cost) and ascend towards the Affarwat Mountain range. The 08 minutes of rope-way will take you past colorful shepherd huntsmen to the lower ridge of the Affarwat peak. From here you can click lots of photos of the nearby mountain ranges that stand tall like sentinels guarding the rich natural beauty of Kashmir valley. After enjoying the beauty at Affarwat peak board other cable car for Affarwat to Kangdoori (on your own cost). The ride time is around 11 minutes. SRINAGAR - PAHALGAM - SRINAGAR   After an early breakfast leave for Pahalgam, the Valley of Shepherds via Srinagar. Drive through saffron fields; visit Mattan Temple. Drive through the pine forest and along the Lidder River. On arrive at Pahalgam hire taxi from Pahalgam taxi stand for sightseeing for Aru, Chandanwari & Betaab Valley. Aru valley is 12 KM and it will take 30 minutes to reach Aru valley from Pahalgam. Here also you will be given one hour to go around the valley area by your cab driver. Here horse is available to climb up the valley. You can also climb up and see the beauty of green valley. If you are in winter months or early summer then this total valley will be full with snow. In peak summer months you can get green valley only. However snow will be available in distance peaks. This is a nice place for trekkers. There is a market near the Aru valley and you can get local products and dresses here. Restaurants are also available but don't expect a very high class service or food here. This is at a distance of 15 KM from Pahalgam. It will take 30 minutes to reach Chandanwari. The road passes through old Pahalgam town with traditional Kashmiri houses. At your right side Lidder river will be flowing and you will be passing through hills and bend roads. Many waterfalls will be there at both sides of the road. These falls are created by melting ice from the snow peaks. Lidder river will be flowing from Chandanwari towards Pahalgam. There is a small market where all essential items including medicines are available. You can get some few camera accessories and batteries for your gadgets in this market. Usually this market became more active before Amarnat Yatra which starts from end of June or July and continues till end of August. At the end of the market there is a big Ice glacier here with a thick layer of ice. Water flows below the glacier. This is the ideal spot for tourist to enjoy snow even in end summer. Local made sledge is available here for skating over the ice. On return from Chandanwari you can visit Betaab Valley. This place is on the way from Pahalgam to Chandanwari. Betaab valley is located at a distance of 7 KM from Pahalgam and from here Chandanwari is further 10 KM. This is more developed as Nature Park with tall trees and river flowing in between the park. This is a nice scenic spot and it got its name from the Hindi movie Betaab which was shot in this place around 1980. This place is well maintained with river flowing through the valley. SRINAGAR – SONAMARG - SRINAGAR After breakfast start towards Sonamarg which is the most beautiful drive from Srinagar. On the way we stop at many beautiful spots. Continue drive to Sonamarg 2690 Mtrs (Meadow of Gold). One can ride on horse to visit to Thajiwas Glacier where snow remains round the year and Sonamarg is known as Gateway of Ladakh.
