Chopta is popularly referred to as the ‘mini Switzerland’ of Uttarakhand, It  (at an approximate altitude of 2,608 m) is a slice of paradise tucked away in the Garhwal Himalayas. Surrounded by bugyals or velvety meadows and pristine snow-capped peaks, Chopta is an all-year holiday destination: pleasant in summer, rain-fresh in monsoon and a snow-clad fairyland in winter. Chopta is at the epicentre of the Panch Kedar – the five most sacred Shiva temples in the state. Chopta is a birding paradise and you can see over 240 species of birds here, including native and migratory species like Himalayan monal, Himalayan swiftlet, Himalayan griffon, scarlet finch, hill partridge, and so on. Dinner and over night stay in Tent/Camp /Homestay.

Trek from Chopta – Tungnath- Chandrashila Peak- Chopta  (3.30 hrs / 4km) After breakfast start the trek .The starting point of the trek is from Tungnath village. Tungnath is the highest of the Panch Kedars. A rock face above Tungnath temple is the Chandrashila summit. It is a short but rigorous hike to the peak. The spectacular view from the top is most promising and truly breathtaking. The Chandrashila summit offers a beautiful view of the Nanda Devi, Trishul, KedarPeak and Chaukhamba peaks. Dinner and over night stay in tents/ camps /Homestay at Chopta.

Drive from Chopta to Rishikesh ( 5.1hrs / 161km ) After breakfast drive from Chopta to Rishikesh . Rishikesh is famous for Camping and rafting are the two major adventurous activities on the banks of river Ganges. Camping amidst nature –birds chirping around and the sound of water gushing away, one can simply enjoy the essence of it.
