PINNAWALA ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is a popular tourist destination in Sri Lanka, located in the village of Pinnawala, about 90 kilometers from Colombo. It was established in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation to provide care and protection to orphaned and injured elephants. Over the years, it has grown into a conservation and breeding center for elephants, housing one of the largest captive elephant herds in the world. Sri Dalada Maligawa Sri Dalada Maligawa, also known as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, is one of the most revered Buddhist sites in Sri Lanka. Located in the city of Kandy, this temple houses the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha, which is considered a symbol of spiritual and political power in the country.
