Built in 1875 by Damodar Rao, the Chatri Talao is an artificial lake located in the city of Amravati. The Chatri Talao is named after the Chatri (umbrella), which is located at the centre of the lake. The Chatri is said to be the largest in Asia. It is a popular tourist destination, and is home to a large number of birds. The lake is also known for its religious significance and is a popular pilgrimage site.
