The nearest airport is Pantnagar Airport, which is around 65 km away from Nainital. There are daily flights from Delhi to Pantnagar. 

The nearest railway station is Kathgodam, which is around 35 km away from Nainital. There are regular trains from Delhi, Lucknow and Mumbai to Kathgodam. 

Nainital is well connected by road. The main road connecting Nainital with the rest of the country is the National Highway 87. There are regular buses from Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai and other major cities to Nainital.

There is a good network of local buses in Nainital that connect the different parts of the town.
