About Dharmasthala
Dharmasthala is a small town in the Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka, India. It is located about 72 km from Mangalore and about 18 km from the temple town of Udupi. Dharmasthala is home to the Sri Manjunatha Swamy Temple, which is a major pilgrimage center for Shaivaites and Vaishnavites. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. The temple complex includes a Kalyana Mantapa (marriage hall), a Ganesha temple, and a Durga temple.
The Sri Manjunatha Swamy Temple is also known for its annual car festival, which is held in February or March. The car festival is attended by thousands of pilgrims from all over India. Dharmasthala is also home to the Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Arts and Cultural Centre, which is dedicated to the promotion of the arts and culture of Karnataka.
