The United Arab Emirates has put a ban on the entry of flights from India and 13 other countries, announced by the federal aviation authority on Sunday. Cargo flights, charter and business flights would be excluded from this rule.
In a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) on Sunday, the UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority said flights from India, Pakistan, Liberia, Namibia, Uganda, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and others will be terminated to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
UAE's National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) had ceased all flights from India on April 24th seeing the brutal second wave of coronavirus in the countries. However, the UAE residents, as well as diplomats, were excluded from the ban.
UAE has planned up different strategies and policies for all its seven emirates as the pandemic has started. For instance, Dubai announced on June 19 to ease the restrictions for travellers from India following July, with an updated travel protocol.
Although under the new policies, entry of flights from India and South Africa will be allowed only if the individual is fully vaccinated with a UAE approved shot as well as tested negative for coronavirus in the past 48 hours.
