The Goa state government has issued advice advising people to observe the mask mandate in public places as a preventive step to prevent another COVID-19 outbreak in the state. Since the pandemic impacted the rest of the world in 2020, Goa's economy has suffered tremendously, with tourism, one of the state's key revenue generators, taking a hit. Slowly, Goa, like the rest of India, is welcoming tourists.
Many local and international travellers have begun to flock to the area now that travel has resurfaced. In order to avoid another devastating Coronavirus pandemic, it is critical to take the required safeguards.
The mask mandate was repealed, along with all travel restrictions in and around the state, after the third wave, as the COVID-19 situation in the country improved a little. As a result of the current scenario, the state government is encouraging residents and visitors to continue wearing masks in public locations.
Large crowds can be found on beaches like Baga and Calangute in North Goa. Beaches like Agonda and Palolem in South Goa are also noted for attracting large throngs of tourists. For the time being, it may be advisable to avoid these crowd attractors. Alternatively, less crowded options include Ashwem Beach for a nice picnic, Cavelossim Beach for some beach fun, a trip to the Goan spice village in Ponda, strolling the calm neighbourhood of Fontainhas, and a visit to the Aguada Fort in the north.
