Google Street View celebrated its 15th birthday last week. On this occasion, Google released a list of the most popular countries, cities, and monuments on Street View, and guess what? Agra's Taj Mahal is among the most popular monuments!
The Taj Mahal in Agra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, is one of the most visited structures on the planet. This white marble structure represents a husband's unending love and affection for his deceased wife. The Mughal emperor Shah Jahan commissioned the monument for his adored wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
We can't dispute that Street View is one of the most captivating ways to take a virtual tour of any significant location.
On the other hand, Indonesia has overtaken the United States as the most visited country, with Jakarta as the most visited city on Street View. Jakarta, Indonesia's capital, has surpassed worldwide cities such as New York, London, and Paris as the most searched city on Google Street View since its introduction 15 years ago.
Indonesia is one of the most visited countries in the world, because of its magnificent beaches, tropical getaways, wonderful traditions, nice people, and, of course, its population of Komodo dragons. Indonesia has received approximately 16 million visitors before the pandemic impacted the rest of the world! Aside from Indonesia, the top ten countries were the United States, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Taiwan, France, and the United Kingdom.
In terms of cities, Tokyo (Japan), Mexico City (Mexico), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina), New York (USA), Istanbul (Turkey), Taipei (Taiwan), Paris (France), and Osaka (Japan) all reached the top ten list.
