From June 4 to 6, 2022, Uttarakhand will host the three-day Devalsari Titli Utsav in Tehri Garhwal's Devalsari. This festival is being held in the hill state to promote nature-based tourism and butterfly watching. The festival will include butterfly, bird, and moth watching, butterfly photography, and environment and heritage excursions, according to sources.
Butterfly tourism is apparently catching up to bird tourism in India. There is no better site to see such beauty than Uttarakhand, which also features amazing Himalayan views and practically everything a visitor could want. This location, nestled in the foothills of the Alps, also offers a variety of exciting adventure options, such as the butterfly festival.
This is the third edition of Titli Utsav, according to Arun Gour of the Devalsari Environment Protection and Technology Development Society, a rural community-based organisation promoting Devalsari tourism. He went on to say that despite having limited residential alternatives, they have had a number of bookings from around the country and beyond and that hundreds of day visitors are expected.
Gour went on to say that the festival's goal is to promote community-oriented and nature-based tourism in the state, with a portion of the proceeds going to local communities and the remainder going to nature conservation. He explained that the profusion of butterflies in the area is due to Devalsari's lush flora. According to accounts, the area is home to up to 198 different species of butterflies.
