According to the latest news, an adventurous bike rally will be held in the second week of May from Gunji to Adi Kailash in Pithoragarh, with the goal of encouraging tourists to visit villages along the India-China border. Officials noted that this will attract both nature lovers and adventure seekers to the area.
The Towards Adi Kailash will be open to all adventure cyclists, according to Pithoragarh District Magistrate Ashish Chauhan. According to him, this is the first time such an event has been held in a border community.
According to reports, people taking part in the cycling ride will have to travel 36 kilometres from Gunji hamlet to Adi Kailash and back.
The District Magistrate went on to say that such an event is being planned because Union Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt is interested in revitalising border settlements through adventure activities. He went on to say that officers have been asked to establish a core group to oversee the event's implementation and make adequate preparations.
In addition, a 10-day national-level hiking excursion from Khaliya Top to Rurkhan has begun in Munsiyari, with over 300 trekkers from 17 states taking part.
