Nubra Valley will soon have a new look, and visitors to Ladakh will be able to experience it as a multi-destination.
The area's upgraded facilities will be a major focus in order to ensure that guests have a positive and memorable experience.
To preserve the safety and welfare of the double-humped Bactrian camels, fences will be erected around the Hunder sand dunes. Camels are an important feature of the area's tourism. Desert safaris employ Bactrian camels.
Officials have urged that the safety of Bactrian camels be taken into consideration. The animals' fitness certificates must be obtained, and all precautions must be taken to keep them healthy. A landscaping plan for Nubra Valley must also be developed, which will include areas to be utilised as camel shelters and camel grazing areas.
Camel fodder will also be cultivated in these specific locations to ensure that the animals have a steady supply of food throughout the year.
Sumoor Desert is also being developed for tourism purposes. Hopefully, tourists will be able to go on desert safaris in the Sumoor desert very soon.
As of today, there will be upgrades in facilities such as online booking for camel rides, Wi-Fi in the area, more cafes with washrooms, more souvenir stores, visitor parking, and more solar-powered enterprises for the existing tourism activities in the area.
Nubra, as a multi-destination, will be planned so that Silk Route heritage excursions and nature walks can be done in and around the area. The proposals also involve astrotourism.
