The Delhi government is preparing to add a new tourist attraction to its itinerary, this time the 14th-century Malcha Mahal. The palace is located on the Sardar Patel Marg in the central ridge and was built during the Tughlaq dynasty as a hunting lodge. The heritage structure is now being renovated by the government. After the work begins, the project will take several years to finish. According to government sources, only a few individuals in Delhi are aware of this hidden beauty, and fewer are aware of its historical significance.
As a result, the state government intends to organise tourist-friendly activities in order to raise awareness of the palace and its history. It's too early to predict the activities because the strategy is still in its infancy.
What is Malcha Mahal?
The stunning Malcha Mahal was once the royal residence of the Nawab of Awadh's ancestors. However, with the death of the last royal member in 2017, the palace was neglected. The palace was not taken over by ASI or the state government. Therefore, the state government's archaeology department is currently attempting to remedy the situation. The agency is now considering hiring a consultant to help with the reconstruction.
