KERALA TOURISM LAUNCHES ‘IN-CAR DINING’ TO SERVE FOOD IN PARKED VEHICLES DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Observing health risks while eating in public spaces amidst covid 19, the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) has introduced ‘In-Car Dining’ services that serve travellers food inside their vehicles. 
 
Tourism Minister P A Mohamed Riyas has announced that ‘In-Car Dining’ will help customers remain within the parked vehicles, to where orders placed at KTDC’s Aahaar Restaurants will reach. 
 
The scheme is being executed taking into consideration the public safety hazards owing to the second wave of the pandemic, the Minister said. 
 
Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks will be served under ‘In – Car Dining’, adhering to Covid-19 precautions.
In the beginning, some specific KTDC restaurants will carry out the scheme, he added.
 
Floating restaurants would also be opened in select spots across the state, starting from one at Veli in Thiruvananthapuram, the first of which will be added at Kadalundi.
